The C1 Extensive Course is perfect for those that are fluent in Portuguese but think that their level is not good enough - native speakers use the verbal tenses that you know that exist but you don´t use them, you have doubts about correct grammar here and there and could always use richer vocabulary (still the Portuguese don´t have any problem to understand you).
Thanks to Catarina´s numerous exercises I managed to be more confident and started to use the Subjunctive in my day-to-day conversations (to my surprise).
It is true that it might be sometimes tiring to do certain exercises over and over, but at the same time, it was necessary. Alone, I would never manage to get disciplined to go through so many exercises and automatize certain grammar rules/concepts.
I would highly recommend the course to anyone that don´t want “just” speak Portuguese but want to speak with confidence and correctly. The best moment is when someone tells you that you speak Portuguese REALLY well.

Of course! You're welcome to join the online lesson at any time, but kindly avoid disrupting the ongoing class. Recordings will always be available, either if you are late or if you miss the lesson.

Being conducted by a private tutor, the course does not offer official certification. However, it comprehensively covers the entire B1/B2 syllabus on all areas of language fluency.

If you ensure active participation in all the activities, you will see positive results and quick progress. If you adopt a passive attitude and expect improvements without effort, progress will be slower.

If you are unsatisfied with the course, you have the right to quit at any time. No refund will be given for the paid monthly fee or fees. In case of force majeure events, those will be addressed in good faith, considering all the circumstances.

I’m Catarina, a 32-year-old translator & Portuguese teacher passionate about simplifying European Portuguese.
I’ve been creating my unique teaching method that delivers immediate results, drawing inspiration from my experiences with over a thousand fantastic students across various language schools and the prestigious Institute for Portuguese Language and Culture (ICLP) in Lisbon.
Terms & Conditions
1. Course(s) Description:
Portuguese with Cat offers language courses designed for learners interested in acquiring proficiency in Portuguese at various levels. These courses focus on developing essential vocabulary, mastering grammar rules, and enhancing conversational skills to ensure good language proficiency.
2. Method of Instruction:
The courses will be conducted exclusively through online sessions on Google Meets. Students are responsible for ensuring they have a stable internet connection and the necessary software for participation.
3. Schedule and Attendance:
Lesson schedules will be agreed in advance. It is the responsibility of the student to attend the agreed-upon sessions punctually.
In case of delay on behalf of the student, the student should enter the online classroom without interrupting or disturbing the ongoing lesson.
4. Course Payment:
The course fee covers the entire duration of the enrolled course and must be paid in full before commencement. The teacher will provide payment instructions and deadlines upon enrollment confirmation.
5. Cancellation and Lesson Rescheduling:
a) Cancellation by the Student:
As recordings for each lesson are made available, there is no cancellation fee for students for missed lessons.
If the student is not satisfied with the course, he/she has the right to quit the course at any time.
b) Cancellation by the Teacher:
If the teacher needs to cancel a lesson due to health reasons, the teacher undertakes to provide an alternative date for the missed lesson. The rescheduled lesson will be offered on either: a) The next available regular schedule or b) At a time determined through a class-wide voting poll, with the most voted time being selected.
6. Refund Policy:
If the student is not satisfied with the course, no refund will be given for the paid course fee.
Refunds for course fees are not available. In case of "force majeure" events, those will be addressed in good faith, considering all the circumstances.
7. Dismissal Policy:
The teacher retains the right to dismiss a student from single lessons and/or the entire course in the event of behavior deemed rude or disrespectful (behaviour that disrupts the normal functioning of the lessons). Such decisions will be made solely at the discretion of the teacher, and no refunds will be provided in the case of dismissal.
8. Intellectual Property:
All course materials provided by Portuguese with Cat are protected by copyright. Reproduction or distribution of course materials without explicit permission is strictly prohibited.
9. Privacy Policy:
Portuguese with Cat will handle any personal information collected during the course of the lessons in accordance with applicable data protection laws. Student information will be kept confidential and used solely for the purpose of delivering the language course.
10. Changes to Terms and Conditions:
The teacher reserves the right to make changes to these terms and conditions. Students will be notified of any changes at least 48 hours in advance.
11. Governing Law:
These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Portuguese Republic. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these terms and conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Portugal.
